These four “scattered” islands (as their name –sporadic – suggests) are close to the Greek mainland and the island of Evia.
Famous for its seaside resorts and coves with emerald-green waters of astonishing clarity, Evia is a landscape of pine, olive and almond trees. Sailing towards the northeast, there’s a scatter of islands and uninhabited islets which are extremely interesting for lovers of wildlife. A new national park has been created to protect the fauna and especially the wonderful marine life, including turtles and the famous Mediterranean monk seal.
Sailing around the many small natural harbors where their taverns serve up fresh fish and lobsters, is extremely agreeable, ideally from April to June and September to October.
