The Peloponnese Peninsula

Since the opening of the Corinth Isthmus, the Peloponnese region has become the largest island in Greece. Homeland of the Olympic Games, it offers an exceptional historical heritage with the mythical cities of Sparta and Mycenae, together with Epidaurus and the exceptional acoustics of its ancient theater. Easily reachable from Athens, the small islands of Poros, Hydra and Spetses are protected from the north winds that blow over the Aegean Sea. You will also sail past an abundance of secluded coves where you can enjoy swimming in the turquoise waters.
Further south, you will be able to visit the rock of Monemvasia with its medieval village, and the white sandy beaches of the island of Elafonissos. Nearby, the beautiful island of Kythira is home to the legend of the birth of Aphrodite.
